I remember Donna was not in the best of moods one morning in Iowa City in 1993 after she discovered not only that she'd left her car's sun roof open during a night of thunderstorms, but also that neither Jen nor I knew how to drive a stick shift and she'd be driving the entire 14 hours to Allentown herself.

I remember most of our traveling when I was a kid was to Kansas to see Wanda near Louisburg, Aunt Anna and Uncle Willie near Gerard, and Grandma Luethje, Uncle Herman, Aunt Martha, and Aunt Louise and Uncle Fred in Independence, and of course we made trips to the panhandle of Texas and western Oklahoma all during the 1950’s to pull cotton.
